Sea cucumbers, like other echinoderms has no brain and relies on the communication between its nerve ring and sensory organs to collect and interpret data, then act accordingly. Although cucumbers have few well-defined sense organs, they are sensitive to touch and to changes in light intensity, temperature, orientation, and the surrounding water. The information is spread throughout the body and reacted to by the cucumber through the movement of its mouth or tube feet.
